LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Lock Haven's women's wrestling program put on a commanding performance Sunday at Thomas Fieldhouse, overwhelming visiting York College by a final score of 42-5 in what amounted to a near-total dismantling of the Spartans across all ten weight classes.

The Bald Eagles wasted no time establishing control, claiming the first two bouts by forfeit before the competition had even truly begun. By the time the mat wrestling got underway at 117 pounds, Lock Haven's momentum was already at full force — and it never relented.

The afternoon belonged to the home squad from start to finish. Lock Haven won eight of ten bouts, with five victories by fall, two by technical fall, and two by forfeit. York College managed its lone bright spot at 138 pounds, where Maura White delivered a pin in 1:36 over Anna Kalcich to put five points on the board for the Spartans — the only measure of resistance the visitors could muster all afternoon.

Maeve Witte set the tone for the competitive portion of the dual meet at 117 pounds, disposing of Gisele Ramirez via technical fall in just 48 seconds in what was one of the quickest and most decisive bouts of the day.

At 131 pounds, Isabella DeVito showed poise and physicality in pinning Barbara Hartman at the 2:44 mark, building a lead that proved insurmountable for York College's already-outmatched squad.

Marissa Rumsey continued the parade of Lock Haven pins at 145 pounds, finishing Ashley Knapp in just 38 seconds — the fastest fall of the entire dual meet and one that prompted audible reaction from the home crowd.

Presley McCandlish provided perhaps the most complete performance of the day at 160 pounds, fighting through a period where York College's Kylie Monroe battled back with a reversal and exposure points before McCandlish reasserted control in the second period and secured the fall at 5:16.

Azariah Moore closed out the 180-pound bout with a dominant technical fall over Allison Brandt, and Lindsay Laws capped the afternoon at 207 pounds with a fall over Peyton Fries at 2:40, sealing the 42-5 final.

Bout Narratives

103 pounds — Summer Batts (Lock Haven) won by forfeit
York College did not field a competitor at 103 pounds, awarding Lock Haven's Summer Batts a forfeit victory before the action could begin. The five team points went to the Bald Eagles without a scramble or whistle, giving Lock Haven an immediate 5-0 advantage and setting a tone of dominance that would carry through the afternoon.

**110 pounds — Anna Lackey (Lock Haven) won by forfeit**
A second consecutive forfeit handed Lock Haven another five points, as York College again could not fill the bracket at 110 pounds. Anna Lackey was credited with the victory, pushing the Bald Eagles' lead to 10-0 before a single competitive bout had been contested. For Lock Haven, those ten free points proved to be a comfortable buffer that York College would never realistically threaten.

117 pounds — Maeve Witte (Lock Haven) tech fall over Gisele Ramirez, 0:48
The first competitive bout of the dual meet was also one of its most explosive. Maeve Witte of Lock Haven came out aggressively, recording a takedown against York College's Gisele Ramirez at the 2:24 mark of the first period. Witte immediately transitioned to a pinning combination and began stacking up exposure points in rapid succession — earning two-point exposure calls at 2:16, 2:15, 2:14, and 2:13 — overwhelming Ramirez in a blur of near-fall scoring. The referee called the technical pin at 2:12 remaining, ending the bout in just 48 seconds of total elapsed time. Witte's opening salvo put the crowd on its feet and set an emphatic standard for the bouts to follow.

124 pounds — Jayleah Pletz (Lock Haven) tech fall over Kallie Bower, 3:23
Jayleah Pletz authored a methodical but relentless performance against York College's Kallie Bower. In the first period, Pletz struck for a takedown at 1:48, then added a second at 1:28, establishing early control. She followed with back-to-back exposure points at 1:12 and 1:10, building toward the technical fall threshold. The bout carried into the second period, where Pletz added another exposure at 2:37 to push her total over the required margin, earning the technical pin at that moment. The win came at 3:23 of total match time, a steady and workmanlike effort that gave Lock Haven an 18-0 advantage heading into the heart of the dual meet.

131 pounds — Isabella DeVito (Lock Haven) fall over Barbara Hartman (York College), 2:44
Isabella DeVito put together a physical and scrappy performance at 131 pounds against York College's Barbara Hartman. DeVito scored the bout's first takedown at the 1:02 mark, demonstrating strong mat awareness. Shortly after, at 0:49, she was credited with a penalty point — likely drawn from aggressive activity near the boundary — pushing her advantage further. DeVito then added a second takedown with just 0:19 remaining in the period and quickly worked Hartman to her back, recording the fall at 0:16. The bout lasted 2:44 in total, a tidy and well-constructed victory that ran Lock Haven's team lead to 23-0.

138 pounds — Maura White (York College) fall over Anna Kalcich (Lock Haven), 1:36
The lone bright spot for York College came at 138 pounds, where Maura White turned in a sharp and decisive performance against Lock Haven's Anna Kalcich. White came out aggressively, recording a takedown at 2:02 to immediately establish control. She followed that with a second takedown at 1:28 and wasted no time working toward a fall, completing the pin at 1:24. The entire sequence unfolded in rapid, controlled fashion — White gave Kalcich very little opportunity to defend or escape. The five team points were hard-earned and well-deserved, putting York College on the board at 23-5 and providing the Spartans with their only meaningful moment of the afternoon.

145 pounds — Marissa Rumsey (Lock Haven) fall over Ashley Knapp (York College), 0:38
If Maeve Witte's earlier bout was explosive, Marissa Rumsey's performance at 145 pounds was a thunderclap. Rumsey wasted absolutely no time, recording a takedown at 2:55 and adding a second at 2:32. She immediately transitioned to a pinning combination and buried York College's Ashley Knapp at 2:22 — the elapsed time of the match coming in at just 38 seconds total. It was the fastest fall of the day, a statement performance that sent a jolt of energy through the Thomas Fieldhouse crowd and pushed Lock Haven's lead to 28-5.

160 pounds — Presley McCandlish (Lock Haven) fall over Kylie Monroe (York College), 5:16
The 160-pound bout proved to be the most competitive of the dual meet, featuring a genuine momentum swing that made it the marquee match of the afternoon. Lock Haven's Presley McCandlish opened strongly with takedowns at 1:52 and 1:11 in the first period, building a commanding lead. But York College's Kylie Monroe refused to fold, recording a reversal at 1:04 and then an exposure at 1:00 to trim the deficit and inject some uncertainty into the proceedings heading into the second period. McCandlish, however, responded with authority. She recorded another takedown at 1:37 of the second period, then added exposure points at 1:11 and 0:45 before securing the fall at 0:44. The 5:16 total bout time was by far the longest fall of the day, and McCandlish's ability to weather Monroe's counterpunch and finish strong underscored the depth of Lock Haven's lineup.

180 pounds — Azariah Moore (Lock Haven) tech fall over Allison Brandt (York College), 3:30
Azariah Moore put together one of the more complete performances on the mat Sunday, dominating York College's Allison Brandt across two periods in a steady accumulation of scoring. In the first period, Moore recorded takedowns at 2:35 and 1:12 before picking up a penalty point at 0:19 and then adding a third takedown with just 0:17 remaining. Carrying that momentum into the second period, Moore struck for another takedown at 2:32 and immediately transitioned into near-fall position, earning an exposure point at 2:31. The technical pin was called at 2:30, closing out the bout at 3:30 of total time. Moore's performance was marked by consistent pressure and efficient finishing — the kind of effort that reflects a wrestler operating with both strength and composure.

207 pounds — Lindsay Laws (Lock Haven) fall over Peyton Fries (York College), 2:40
Lindsay Laws provided a fitting exclamation point to Lock Haven's dominant afternoon, closing out the dual meet at 207 pounds with a methodical and well-executed fall over York College's Peyton Fries. Laws scored an opening takedown at 2:22 to establish control, then collected out-of-bounds points at 1:28 and 0:52 — a sign of persistent pressure that kept Fries scrambling and off-balance. Laws added a second takedown at 0:24, quickly turning it into a pinning opportunity and recording the fall at 0:20. The victory came at 2:40 of total time, sealing the 42-5 final and capping a comprehensive team performance that left little doubt about the gap between these two programs on this particular afternoon.
