Lock Haven Holds Off Shippensburg, 76-60, Behind Balanced Attack

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Jenadia Jordan orchestrated a balanced offensive effort and Lock Haven used a dominant second-quarter run to pull away from Shippensburg for a 76-60 victory Saturday afternoon at Thomas Fieldhouse, securing the Eagles' 22nd win of the season.

Jordan finished with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and a game-high seven assists, controlling the tempo of the game from start to finish. The senior guard added four steals and proved to be the engine behind a Lock Haven offense that outscored Shippensburg in each of the final three quarters after falling behind early.

Madeline Evans and Rhlyn Rouse each chipped in 16 points to give Lock Haven three players in double figures. Evans was a force in the paint, shooting 6-of-7 from the field and adding seven rebounds, including two offensive boards that led to crucial second-chance baskets. Rouse hauled in 13 rebounds alongside her 16-point effort, while Alana Robinson added 12 points, three steals, and a block off the bench.

Shippensburg's Melana Eyer was nothing short of spectacular in a losing effort, pouring in a game-high 31 points on 10-of-19 shooting, including 2-of-7 from deep, while also going 9-of-10 at the free-throw line. Eyer added four steals and three assists, but she received limited support from her teammates, with McKenzie Thomas contributing 12 points as the only other Raiders player to reach double figures.

The game's early stages belonged to Shippensburg. The Raiders jumped out to a 17-12 lead after the first quarter, with Eyer hitting a critical three-pointer and converting free throws off multiple steals. The Raiders moved the ball quickly in transition and forced seven first-quarter turnovers from Lock Haven.

The turning point came in the second quarter. After Shippensburg built their largest lead of 23-13 midway through the period, Jordan took matters into her own hands — stealing the ball twice from Thomas in consecutive possessions and converting layups each time to help fuel a 20-6 run. Three-pointers from Nufi Nemale-Djiegoue and a tip-in from Rouse at the buzzer gave Lock Haven a 33-29 halftime advantage.

Lock Haven never relinquished that lead. The Eagles poured it on in the third quarter, outscoring Shippensburg 22-17 behind seven assists in the period. Robinson's fast-break jumper, back-to-back Rouse layups, and a thunderous finish by Evans as the buzzer sounded pushed the lead to 55-46 heading into the fourth.

The Raiders made a brief push in the final period as Eyer continued to produce, but Lock Haven answered every run. Jordan's fast-break layup with 1:44 remaining effectively sealed the game, extending the margin to 76-58 and silencing any remaining Shippensburg momentum.

Lock Haven outrebounded the Raiders 43-24 and converted 22 second-chance opportunities, a discrepancy that proved too steep for Shippensburg to overcome. The Eagles improved to 22-5 overall and 19-3 in PSAC play, while the Raiders fell to 3-25.
