Ostrowsky, Watson Fuel Haven's Season-Ending Rout of Gannon

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Jackson Ostrowsky threw for 459 yards and five touchdowns, and Mekhi Watson hauled in three scores as Lock Haven closed out its regular season in dominant fashion, dismantling Gannon 49-28 on Saturday afternoon at Hubert Jack Stadium before a crowd of 943.

The victory lifted Lock Haven to 6-5 overall and 5-2 in conference play, while Gannon finished a difficult campaign at 1-10.

Ostrowsky was nothing short of surgical, completing 31 of 43 passes without an interception against a Gannon secondary that simply had no answer for the Haven's spread attack. Watson was his favorite weapon, finishing with 10 receptions for 169 yards and three touchdowns, including a 33-yard strike with under five minutes remaining that effectively sealed the contest. Junior tight end Jaiden Huntington complemented Watson brilliantly, pulling in seven catches for 104 yards and a pair of scores. Wide receiver Justin Popovich added seven receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown to give Lock Haven four legitimate receiving threats.

The Haven wasted little time asserting control. After surviving an early turnover on downs deep in Gannon territory, Lock Haven put together an 11-play, 92-yard opening drive capped by Ostrowsky's 26-yard touchdown strike to Popovich late in the first quarter. The floodgates opened from there. A Watson 20-yard touchdown run off a quick two-play, 38-yard drive early in the second quarter made it 14-0, and Damir Green punched in a one-yard score following a 16-play march to push the lead to 21-0 at halftime.

Lock Haven kept its foot on the gas after intermission. Green ripped off a 46-yard gain on the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter, setting up another Ostrowsky-to-Huntington score just 75 seconds into the half to extend the advantage to 28-0.

To Gannon's credit, sophomore quarterback Ty Hurst and the Golden Knights refused to fold. Hurst, who had struggled with two interceptions — both to linebacker Rocco Daugherty — rallied to post respectable final numbers, completing 12 of 21 passes for 125 yards and a score while adding 48 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Running back Rolando Perez was Gannon's most explosive performer, turning in 156 rushing yards on 11 carries including a stunning 73-yard touchdown burst in the fourth quarter that briefly made things interesting at 41-21. Tight end James Faulkner hauled in six passes for 48 yards and a score.

But Lock Haven answered every Gannon surge. After Perez's long run, Ostrowsky led a quick four-play, 78-yard drive culminating in Watson's third touchdown — this time a 33-yarder — to push the lead back to 28. A successful two-point conversion pass to Huntington made it 49-21.

Green rushed for 85 yards, including a long of 46, while freshman Lorenzo Robinson chipped in 42 yards on three carries in mop-up time. Daugherty's two interceptions were the defensive highlight for the winners.

Lock Haven's offense accumulated 687 total yards on the afternoon, controlling the time of possession by more than eight minutes.
