LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — West Virginia overcame a stunning 9-0 deficit to defeat Lock Haven 21-15 on Saturday evening at Thomas Fieldhouse, erasing the early hole with a five-bout run that ultimately proved decisive in a dual meet that swung wildly in both directions before the Mountaineers finally secured the victory at 165 pounds.

The Bald Eagles burst out of the gates, winning the first three bouts of the night at 174, 184, and 197 to build what looked like a commanding lead. But West Virginia steadied itself at heavyweight and never truly relinquished the momentum from that point forward, stringing together enough victories — and bonus-point performances — to pull clear for good.

The decisive moment came at 133 pounds, where West Virginia's Gunner Andrick delivered the dual meet's signature performance: a fall over Lock Haven's Sean Logue in just two minutes flat. That pin swung six points to the Mountaineers and flipped the scoreboard from a 9-6 Lock Haven lead to a 12-9 West Virginia advantage, a lead the visitors would never surrender.

Andrick's fall was the emotional turning point, but it was Ty Watters who put the match away emphatically. The West Virginia 165-pounder posted a technical fall over Nick Kunstek — winning 19-4 in 6:43 — to close out the dual and push the final margin to 21-15.
